The Spinner
The Spinner
The Moirai (Fates) were the creators of destiny. Some historians claim they were primordial beings and children of Nyx (night) and Erebus (darkness) at the beginning of creation, while others debate that they were goddesses, daughters of Zeus (god of the sky). Regardless of their origins, they were known as the deities that determined the fates of both gods and mortals.
Clotho was the youngest of the three. Known as “the spinner”, it was Clotho’s role to spin the thread that was to be the lives of all who were born. She was often portrayed working her spindle and distaff, preparing the thread of life, before her sister, Lachesis measured the thread and finally Atropos cut the thread. Her symbol was therefore an ancient spindle.
As the initial spinner, it was believed that she chose who was born and when. In the case of the story of Pelops (grandson of Zeus), Clotho made the decision to resurrect the boy after his father had murdered him and served him up at a feast, hoping to honour the Olympian gods.

Candles:
For optimum safety and enjoyment, please follow our guidelines which will also help to prolong the life of your candle:
• Trim the wick to 6mm length before every use.
• When burning for the first time, allow the candle to burn for at least 2 hours - or to the edge of the vessel - to create a memory and avoid tunnelling.
• Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
• Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Avoid drafts and items that may catch alight.
• Keep away from children and pets.
• Do not move a candle while it is lit or wax is melted.
• Extinguish with a candle dipper or snuffer to care for wicks and avoid splashes.
• Keep clean and free of dust and debris.
• Store your candle upright and away from excessive light and temperatures.
• Discard when wax is 10mm from the bottom of the vessel.
Melts:
· Only use melts in an electric
warmer or oil burner that has been specifically designed for soy wax melts.
· Place device on a heat-resistant
surface, away from drafts.
· Snap individual melt bars off
the main block and place the desired amount into the dish of your device. We recommend using one block at a time, but if you have a large dish and require
more fragrance, you can add a second bar.
· Do not add water or any foreign
objects.
· Keep away from children and pets and ensure that any electric warmer cables cannot be reached, pulled at or tripped over.
· Do not move the device while it
contains hot, melted wax.
· Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
· Never leave your device
unattended while in use.
· Each block should provide 10+
hours of fragrance and can be re-used as often as you like, for as long as the fragrance remains.
· Allow wax to cool and reset
before moving the device or switching to a new fragrance.
· To remove cooled, solid wax from your device, turn the device on for approximately 20 seconds to loosen the edges, then carefully slide the solid block from the dish. Use a paper towel to wipe out any melted residue, being careful to avoid burns by touching the hot wax or heated device.
· Never clean your device with
chemicals, as the residue may be flammable and possibly emit harmful gases on subsequent uses.
