Hecate (Hekate) was known as the Goddess of Magic and Spells, but she was so much more. As the daughter of Titans Perses and Asteria, she wields power over heaven, the earth and the sea and is the goddess of witchcraft, the moon, night, ghosts and necromancy.
She is associated with borders, doorways and crossroads and is the guardian of journeys, including that to the afterlife and the underworld. She is considered to be the original Triple Moon Goddess. In this capacity, she worked in conjunction with the different phases of the moon and in celebration of the cycle of womanhood and its three stages known as Maiden, Mother and Crone.
Hecate is one of the few beings who can easily cross from the underworld to the physical world and back. She is often depicted with keys, serpents and burning torches to help guide the way for travellers in the night. Most often, she is represented in triple-form, with three versions of herself standing back-to-back so that she can see in all directions of the crossroads.
When Demeter’s daughter, Persephone, was abducted by Hades and taken to the underworld, it was Hecate who helped the distraught mother in her search to locate the missing girl. Upon the agreement that Persephone should divide her time between the living and the underworld, it fell to Hecate to safely guide Persephone between the realms and she became her companion during her time in the underworld.

Candles:
For optimum safety and enjoyment, please follow our guidelines which will also help to prolong the life of your candle:
• Trim the wick to 6mm length before every use.
• When burning for the first time, allow the candle to burn for at least 2 hours - or to the edge of the vessel - to create a memory and avoid tunnelling.
• Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
• Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Avoid drafts and items that may catch alight.
• Keep away from children and pets.
• Do not move a candle while it is lit or wax is melted.
• Extinguish with a candle dipper or snuffer to care for wicks and avoid splashes.
• Keep clean and free of dust and debris.
• Store your candle upright and away from excessive light and temperatures.
• Discard when wax is 10mm from the bottom of the vessel.
Melts:
· Only use melts in an electric
warmer or oil burner that has been specifically designed for soy wax melts.
· Place device on a heat-resistant
surface, away from drafts.
· Snap individual melt bars off
the main block and place the desired amount into the dish of your device. We recommend using one block at a time, but if you have a large dish and require
more fragrance, you can add a second bar.
· Do not add water or any foreign
objects.
· Keep away from children and pets and ensure that any electric warmer cables cannot be reached, pulled at or tripped over.
· Do not move the device while it
contains hot, melted wax.
· Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
· Never leave your device
unattended while in use.
· Each block should provide 10+
hours of fragrance and can be re-used as often as you like, for as long as the fragrance remains.
· Allow wax to cool and reset
before moving the device or switching to a new fragrance.
· To remove cooled, solid wax from your device, turn the device on for approximately 20 seconds to loosen the edges, then carefully slide the solid block from the dish. Use a paper towel to wipe out any melted residue, being careful to avoid burns by touching the hot wax or heated device.
· Never clean your device with
chemicals, as the residue may be flammable and possibly emit harmful gases on subsequent uses.
